Built by golfers, for South African golf.
We got tired of phoning around for tee times, scratching for a fourth, and arguing about how far that one went. So we built the app we wanted.
What we’re building
Shankdt is the golf super-app for South Africa: booking, community and a proper shot tracer in one place. We aggregate the tee sheets clubs already run, we own the social layer no one else has, and we turn every round into something you want to share.
The name says it: golf is hard, everyone shanks one, and the point is to own it and enjoy the game anyway.
The long game
As our audience grows, Shankdt becomes a tournament promoter. The flagship Shankdt Invitational is built toward a co-sanctioned Sunshine Tour event — funded through in-app ticketing, hospitality and Pro-Am auctions, awarding OWGR points. Every feature we ship is a step on that road.

Is Shankdt available now?
We’re in beta. The app runs on iOS and Android; join the beta with your email and we’ll get you access. Booking is live against our aggregated course network.
How does the shot tracer work without special hardware?
You film your shot on your phone and mark impact and landing on the video — that gives frame-accurate hang time. A full ballistic model (drag, spin lift, air density) turns it into carry, apex, ball speed and more. Fully automatic ball-tracking arrives in a later release.
Do I need a handicap?
No. You can book and trace without one. A self-declared handicap unlocks fourball matchmaking; a verified GolfRSA/HNA link is on the roadmap.
How do you make money?
A flat R10 player booking fee, Shankdt Pro subscriptions, a 10% commission on dynamic-priced tee times we fill for clubs, and a small cart commission. Clubs pay nothing for software.
Which courses can I book?
400+ South African courses across all nine provinces, and growing as we sign club partnerships.
Is my payment information safe?
Payments will be handled by a PCI-compliant provider (Peach / PayFast / Stitch). This demo build takes no real payments.
